01Which battery brands do you install?
Our battery page features options including Tesla Powerwall 3, Sungrow, Sigenergy, SolaX and BYD. We can explain the differences and recommend a system that suits your property and priorities.
02How is the right battery size chosen?
We consider your household usage, solar generation, roof and switchboard, along with how you want to use stored energy. The final size is confirmed in a site-specific design and quote.
03Will a battery keep my home running in a blackout?
Backup during an outage depends on the system design, the battery’s backup capability, essential circuits and installation settings. We can explain what is practical for your home before you decide.
04Can a battery work with Ergon Energy?
Yes, battery systems can be designed for homes connected to the Ergon Energy network. Export settings, approvals and how the battery operates depend on the property and the final system design. Read more about solar and batteries on Ergon in Townsville.
05What is the next step for a battery quote?
We review your existing solar, energy use and goals, then prepare a tailored recommendation. Contact our Townsville team or call 07 4401 5122 to arrange the next step.
06How much does a 10kW solar and battery system cost in Townsville?
It depends on your home. The main factors are the battery brand and size, your switchboard, blackout backup, Ergon approval and your roof type. The federal battery rebate takes around 30% off an eligible battery. For a quote based on your bills and roof, call 07 4401 5122 or request a quote online.
07What size battery suits a 10 to 30 kW solar system?
It depends on how much power you use at night, not just your panels. Couples and smaller homes usually need about 8 to 10 kWh. Families running air con most evenings usually need about 13 to 18 kWh. Big homes with a pool, ducted air con or an EV usually need 25 kWh or more. Exact sizes depend on the brand, so we confirm the size from your bills.
08Is the federal battery rebate going down?
Yes. It steps down on 1 January 2027, then again every six months. The rebate is set by your install date, not the date you sign. The first 14 kWh of usable capacity gets the full rebate, 14 to 28 kWh gets 60% of the rate, and 28 to 50 kWh gets 15%.
